Color coated aluminum coils have become one of the preferred materials for modern building envelope systems. Compared with traditional steel or conventional building materials, their core advantages-lightweight yet high strength, excellent weather resistance, durability, and environmental recyclability-help reduce the total life-cycle cost of buildings by approximately 30%.
Color coated aluminum coil is a composite material produced by surface cleaning and chromate treatment of aluminum coil substrates, followed by organic coating application and high-temperature baking. The main types include PVDF coated aluminum coils and PE coated aluminum coils.
PE (Polyester) coating:
Offers good adhesion and rich color options. It is suitable for interior decoration and exterior architectural applications in normal environments.
PVDF (Fluorocarbon) coating:
Contains more than 70% fluorocarbon resin and provides outstanding UV resistance, color retention, and salt spray resistance. It is the preferred choice for high-end building façades and extreme environments.
Common aluminum substrates include 1050, 1100, 3003, 3004, 3105, and 5052 aluminum alloys.

1. Excellent Weather Resistance
The aluminum surface forms a wear-resistant, anti-oxidation, and corrosion-resistant protective layer, enabling long-term use under extreme climates from -40°C to +60°C. Compared with traditional coated materials (such as steel sheets or PVC panels), its service life can exceed 50 years, significantly reducing maintenance costs.
2. Lightweight with High Strength
The density of aluminum is only about 30% that of steel, while tensile strength can reach 180-220 MPa, maintaining excellent bending and impact resistance. This makes it particularly suitable for large-span roofs and complex ceiling designs.
3. Decorative Performance
With a wide range of color options (RAL colors and custom colors), prepainted aluminum coils can achieve matte, high-gloss, metallic, wood grain, and stone grain finishes, meeting modern architectural requirements for aesthetics and brand identity.
4. Excellent Processability
Prepainted aluminum coils are easy to cut, bend, punch, and roll-form, making them compatible with various roofing panels, ceiling panels, and wall cladding systems, thereby shortening construction cycles.
5. Safety
Despite being lightweight, prepainted aluminum coils offer excellent load-bearing and compressive strength, providing better resistance to natural disasters. Wind resistance can reach Grade 10, and the fire rating is Class A.
6. Environmentally Friendly and Recyclable
Aluminum is 100% recyclable, meeting green building standards such as LEED and BREEAM, reducing construction waste and lowering carbon footprints.

1. Roofing Systems
In roofing systems, especially for large-span buildings such as stadiums, airports, and high-speed railway stations, 3004 aluminum-magnesium-manganese alloy prepainted coils are widely used.
Structural performance:
Aluminum-magnesium-manganese alloys provide excellent structural strength. Combined with standing seam systems, they offer superior waterproof performance.
Weather resistance:
PVDF coatings reflect heat, reducing indoor temperatures, and can maintain corrosion resistance for 20-30 years even in industrial areas with severe acid rain.
2. Ceiling and Suspended Ceiling Systems
Indoor ceilings require extremely high flatness and aesthetic quality.
Lightweight:
Aluminum density is only one-third that of steel, greatly reducing ceiling system loads and enhancing safety.
Design versatility:
Prepainted aluminum coils can be customized with wood grain, stone grain, or various matte and glossy finishes to meet personalized interior design needs.
Fire resistance:
Aluminum is a Class A non-combustible material, providing essential safety for ceilings in public spaces.
3. Wall Systems (Curtain Walls and Honeycomb Panel Substrates)
Whether for single-layer aluminum curtain walls, aluminum composite panels (ACP), or aluminum honeycomb panels, prepainted aluminum coils serve as the core decorative surface material.
Wind pressure resistance:
Through proper alloy selection (e.g., 3003 H24), prepainted aluminum coils provide good rigidity and can withstand high wind loads in high-rise buildings.
Self-cleaning properties:
High-quality PVDF coatings have low surface energy, preventing dust accumulation. Rainwater naturally cleans the surface, keeping it looking new and significantly reducing maintenance costs.
